Honesty always prevails here......... I do NOT like Avon Luck for her. I do not like the scent nor do I like that the scent does not last. I prefer perfume with a scent that lasts at least a few hours.

Now Luck for Him is a different story! This scent is fantastic. My husband and son both love it! The scent is manly and sexy. I highly recommend for the men in your life and the price is affordable!

Super Extend Eyeliner

I loved the ease of use and I LOVED the color (teal). My disappointment was that it ran. When I applied the product to my lid at the eyelash line. I found that I would get another line on my eyelid. Not sure why this happens but it is not a good look!
Can anyone tell me why this happens or if you use the product. Could you give us your review?

Cushion Walk® Knee-High Stretch Boot $49.99

My 22 year old daughter requested that I purchase these boots for her. In her mind, since I work for Avon I do not pay for the stuff I order :). Anyway.... She loved these boots and had to have them ! When deliver day came, she could not wait to get wrapper off and boot on.

She loved them ! Until she said "Mom, how do they look?" I could not lie. They looked good from a frontal and side view but not the back, The stretch elastic back did NOT grasp her calf at all. Not even close. She loved the boot so much, we returned and reordered in a smaller size. Same problem.

Unfortunately Samantha said they were very comfortable boots and she wished they fit her properly. It seems these boots are made for women with bigger calves. I would say the "stretch to fit any calf" is misleading. To me, that indicates the boot fits all calves and will stretch to fit a larger calf. Not so!
My daughter's regular size calves did not fill out these boots.

So I would not recommend these boots unless you have larger calves. If you do, Samantha says order them ! They are so comfortable being Cushion Walk boots.

Choosing the right red shade of lipstick

Trying to chose the right shade of lipstick for you, maybe an overwhelming experience. Looking at over 20+ shades to choose from seems daunting. As an Avon rep and a woman who wears lipstick I can relate. Here are some tips I use and would like to share with you. As an Avon rep I do offer my customer the option of letting me get the sample shade first but most times they decline and use my simple strategy with success.
Since red seems to be the trend now. I will focus on selecting the best red for you !


When it comes to choosing the right shade of red lipstick, it’s important to think about the color of your skin and your hair. If you have pale skin, look for a red with pink or blue undertones. If you have olive or darker skin, an orange-red will probably look better on you. 
Consider the brightness and how much brightness you are comfortable wearing. The brighter ones are naturally going to pop more on paler skin and may look less intense on darker skin. If a sample is available,  swipe some on your inner wrist and you’ll have a pretty good idea how bright it will look on your lips. You want something that isn't too over the top, but instead will blend with your make-up and look natural. 
When it comes to hair color playing into the equation, many make-up experts recommend that blondes wear bright red lipstick that has a slight matte look to it. For those with darker hair, deeper reds look great. Try a burgundy or wine colored shade. However, if you have dark hair, but light skin, choose something a bit understated or your look will be too severe. Red heads can’t go wrong with a great coral shade of red. 
Another consideration should be the eye color you would be wearing with your shade of red lipstick. You do not want to look like Mimi from the Drew Carey show ! :)So I would caution women to keep their eye make-up toned down if they are going with bright red lips. You want to look natural and beautiful, but too much make-up can quickly make you look way over the top. So if you opt for red lipstick, wear a light neutral on your eye and finish the look with a of couple coats of black mascara.
The best way to determine what shade of red is right for you is to look in the mirror. Does the shade make you cringe? Or perhaps you cannot stop looking at yourself and you feel like a million bucks!

Well, I promised honesty and as an independent Avon representative I give honest reviews. I am not here to "just" sell product. Yes I wish to be successful but integrity is important to me. Although this will not boost my sales, here goes............
I have a "NEED" to take care of my feet. Ok maybe it is an obsession :). I am a diabetic so yes there really is a need but I always had/have tough feet. Having soft feet makes me feel good. I do not want too be that woman wearing sandals with cracked heels.

This product interested me. It was fair priced and reviews were mostly positive. Very excited when deliver came! Immediate disappointment when there was not any instructions on the product or package. After all it is named "pedi-peel". I wanted to know how to peel properly. I check online , no instructions either. I shrug that off. I am not a dummy I can figure this out.

After a shower with my feet nice and clean I open the jar. Surpise! There is no peel! It is a wipe! Akin to a popular acne pad that you would use to clean your face. Now I feel dumb lol. Do i use this pad to wipe my feet like I do my face? Turns out, yes I do !

It did burn a little but easy enough to apply. Sadly, I would only give this product 1/2 a star. I did not see any difference or improvement. No instructions was very disappointing.

Avon's new nail polish ........"metallic effects"

So I pride myself on given direct honest answers. It is part of who I am. Anyone who knows me, knows I do not hold back. Sure I am polite about it but I am direct and honest too.

This leads me to this post. A friend, an Avon customer of mine inquired about Avon nail polish. Without hesitation, I said honestly, I personally do not like it. I know I should not be saying that since I sell the stuff but hey ! If I would not buy it, I am not going to say I love it just for sales. Long story short she appreciated my honesty but purchase the polish anyway. Not just once either. Turns out she likes the polish and the price! To each their own huh?

Well today I got my Avon delivery. Which is an exciting time. Ripping open the boxes. Checking out the newest and latest products. Pure fun for me ! Anyway I had ordered the newest nail polish polish. It is called Avon Metallic Effects in gold tone. I saw it, liked the way it looked, and decided to try it.

Well, I love the way it went on. The way it looks. So much so that I want to order every color ! It truly went on smooth and looks professional. It comes in the latest Fall seasonal colors. I HIGHLY recommend it.

One of my favorite Avon products is Silicone Glove Handcream. It's the best affordable Handcream . What I like best about it is that if I happen to wash my hands AFTER I lotion up. The silicone does NOT wash off! Amazing ! Therefore I do not have to reapply and I have not wasted my precious hand cream . It usually sells for $5 but I always wait for "the sale" and stock up. Not the best start

Well I did not do so well in my commitment to blog. BUT I am determined to be a successful blogger. My mantra will be ..... Try and try again !

Newbie

 Not too long ago, I decided to become an Avon representative. Why you may ask?
Well, of course the extra income would be great but most of all. I thought of it as a venture my daughter Samantha and I could share. Work together, bring us closer, do things together, and earn money doing it.
It didn't quite turn out as I had envisioned.And that is okay. Although, I rather Sam have enjoyed this with me. At 22 years old, it isn't something that really interests her. She will tell you its because she is shy. Yes, she is shy but what a better way to expand your inhibitions? She does enjoy ordering from the catalog on Mom's dime though lol but that's another story. 
Anyway, here I am. 7 months into my Avon gig! And I have already make Unit Leader! Commission checks! Hooray for me , right? I love Avon and proud of myself for accomplishing Unit Leader but honestly, its not all peaches and creams. As a fellow rep described it, " you have to babysit your team". Boy , is she correct !
I am constantly sending out emails, texts, or making phone calls that go unanswered. So I may lose my title eventually, but it will not be because I am a slacker lol I will not stop trying to build my team into a successful venture for all of us. Reaching President's Club might be all that is in the stars for me if I lose my current title.
Whatever is in store for me, I am enjoying the trip. Amazed at how much I enjoy this job and Avon products. For me the Avon skincare line is great and affordable! 
Do not think I am saying this is an easy job. It is not. Depending on how much you want to put into your own business is exactly what you will get and how far you will go. I have found that I am going further than anticipated. With every event or business meeting, I am inspired to get up and get out there ! Anjie, my DM. She is fantastic at keeping us all motivated. I guess she is the babysitter of all of us lol. So yes, I do spend more time pushing my Avon hustle than originally planned but I am making way and loving it !

Little more about me,  I moved to Va in 1990 from NY with my husband, Matt. We got married and went on a honeymoon and a week later packed up and moved to Virginia Beach for his job, a promotion. We have two beautiful children. Samantha 22 years old and Matthew Connor 16 years old.
Matt and I miss NY terribly. It will always be home. Yes I sound like Fran Drescher :)
